It is confusing personally to generalize what I like more; offroading or adventure or trips. Perhaps the fact that a 4x4 allows you to just point and head out in that direction without a second thought, makes a roadtrip with a 4x4, the perfect adventure.
We’ve quite often returned from trips because we couldn’t cross the third flooded stream, due to the clay forming up ahead but we’ve never complained. It was always an adventurous experience. Getting stuck, moving out again, getting stuck, fording, winching, endless chatter, humor, photography, camping at random, etc, the endgame of reaching your target destination then becomes a reward.

Awesome pictures, I think I actually prefer over landing to off roading. Having a destination makes the journey just that much better.

True true. Even in 4x4, you always move out to a destination but as I said, due to the effort and companionship that’s involved, reaching the destination becomes an award.
